Disruption In the Supply Chain
All of us in manufacturing, distribution, and supply chain services can agree the last 3 months of our careers have been the most challenging months of our careers. We were disrupted in many ways, some of us in different ways, some of us in similar ways. Some had too much inventory, some had inventory that would expire, some could not produce enough inventory fast enough, some could not produce high demand inventory at all. Either way you slice it it's been a roller coaster ride.
BACK TO WORK FAQ
Should I cancel meetings and conferences? The CDC recommends carefully considering whether travel is necessary and use videoconferencing or teleconferencing when possible for work-related meetings and gatherings. When videoconferencing or teleconferencing is not possible, hold meetings in open, well-ventilated spaces, and space chairs at least 6 feet apart. Encourage staff and attendees to stay home if sick.
Do You Know What A Consumer Really Wants
With people becoming more aware of the global warming epidemic comes consumers leaning towards sustainable products. Clients are looking for more than just cheaper packaging, they're looking for solutions. People don't want just a product; they want a lifestyle. In fact, consumers are willing the spend more on products that are good for the environment. We are seeing a company’s environmental impact being taken into consideration when purchasing. There are many environmental issues that come with paper and plastic packaging. Deforestation and pollution are on the rise and we must work towards protecting the world in which we live in. Due to these concerns, consumers around the world are making adjustments in their shopping habits.
Health and Wellness 2020
It’s late December 2019, you’ve just got done with Thanksgiving. All the trimmings and leftovers for 2-3 days. Now we come upon Christmas Eve, and if you’re Italian, like me, you can’t wait to sample all the fish platters, bread, and wine set on a 12’ long table. We make it through Christmas Day, and at this point, you swear off food. You think about your New Year’s resolution. For 2020 I am going to lose 10 lbs. This is what health and wellness meant to us in 2019.
SUPPORTING THE WORKPLACE REINTEGRATION STRATEGIES
As we’re moving through the COVID-19 Pandemic and into the post quarantine phase organizations are building and tweaking re-opening strategies to their facilities with policies and procedures designed to keep their employees safe and healthy. Sustainability = Health & Wellness rings true now more than ever.
BACK TO BASICS: OUR NEW SUPPLY CHAIN ISN’T EXACTLY “NEW”
I heard a speech by Simon Sinek many years ago that had a profound impact on my view of the modern supply chain. I’m loosely paraphrasing, but essentially he said “no one really knows how to manufacture a computer mouse. Many people know how to make pieces that create that mouse, but no one person actually manufactures a computer mouse from start to finish.”
