Fits Emerald Compostable 12oz. and 16oz. Soup Cups.

Flexible and sturdy , commercially compostable soup cups lids made from polylactic acid (PLA), a USDA Certified Biobased plastic made from corn starch. PLA is a sustainable and renewable alternative to petroleum-based plastics.

Meets ASTM D6400 standards.

What is PLA? PLA, or polylactic acid, is a natural plant-based bioplastic derived from renewable resources like cornstarch and sugar cane that is both biodegradable and compostable and is an eco-friendly alternative to petroleum-based plastics.

What is BPA Free? Emerald paper plates are also BPA free. Bisphenol A (BPA) is a potentially toxic hormone-mimicking chemical used in some plastics and plastic sealants. BPA has also been found in the ink on newspapers and receipts, leading to the presence of BPA in recycled paper products. Emerald Brand Tree-Free products are naturally BPA free!

What is USDA Biobased? As a USDA Biobased product, this identifies this product as made primarily of biological or agricultural materials. The label assures the consumer that the product contains a USDA-verified amount of renewable biological ingredients.

What is Compostable? A compostable product will breakdown over time into usable soil. Composting can be done at home or in a commercial composting facility.

Emerald PLA cup lids are the sustainable alternative to traditional petroluem-based plastics. There are many ways you can help create an environmentally sustainable tomorrow. PLA cup lids are just one way you can become part of the solution.
