Sturdy commercially compostable cold beverage cups made from polylactic acid (PLA), a USDA Certified Biobased plastic made from corn starch. PLA is a sustainable and renewable alternative to petroleum-based plastics. Excellent for any cold beverage!

Meets ASTM D6400 standards. Pair with Emerald commercially compostable cold cup lids and straws!

What is PLA? PLA, or polylactic acid, is a natural plant-based bioplastic derived from renewable resources like cornstarch and sugar cane that is both biodegradable and compostable and is an eco-friendly alternative to petroleum-based plastics.

What is BPA Free? Emerald paper plates are also BPA free. Bisphenol A (BPA) is a potentially toxic hormone-mimicking chemical used in some plastics and plastic sealants. BPA has also been found in the ink on newspapers and receipts, leading to the presence of BPA in recycled paper products. Emerald Brand Tree-Free products are naturally BPA free!

What is USDA Biobased? As a USDA Biobased product, this identifies this product as made primarily of biological or agricultural materials. The label assures the consumer that the product contains a USDA-verified amount of renewable biological ingredients.

What is Compostable? A compostable product will breakdown over time into usable soil. Composting can be done at home or in a commercial composting facility.

Emerald PLA cold cups are the sustainable alternative to traditional petroleum-based plastics. There are many ways you can help create an environmentally sustainable tomorrow. PLA cold cups are just one way you can become part of the solution.

Great little cups!

We started using these in our restaurant. They're strong and thick, feels better than the thin plastic cups, and you can put all sorts of things in them. Glad we could find a versatile plastic free cup for our place.
